The complex included 3-4 storey apartment houses on 84 Dzirnavu Street, 13 Marijas Street, 85a Elizabetes Street. There were shops on the ground floor, the fa?ade of the buildings were made in Neo-Renaissance forms. The main part of the complex is a group of buildings with a passage way connecting all the buildings inside.
At the very beginning there were 131 shops, different workshops, a printing house, and a restaurant in Berga Bazars. "Calendar of Berga Bazars" was published in the period of 1894-1908 (famous Latvian authors Aspazija, A. Brigadere, J. Poruks published their first works there). During the last quarter of the 20th century shop premises within the passage were partly reconstructed.
