National Theatre
In the late-nineteenth century and early twentieth century the most significant and most representative public buildings were built in the area close to the Old City. Architect A. Reinbergs (1860 - 1908) built the II Town (Russian) Theatre (present National Theatre, 1900-02). The Theatre was developed in Riga Bürger Classicism style. Theatre had good arranged stage, high level of communications, well-highlighted entrance stairs and foyer. The sculptor A. Folcs makes the figures of Atlantes at the entrance.
