It was in the mid-seventeenth century when Riga householders decided to decorate the entrances of the warehouses with gorgeous portals. One of the most famous portals is that of the so-called Camel's warehouse, which was situated in Vecpilsetas Street. In the late-ninetieth century the warehouse was destroyed and a new building was constructed instead[PCU10]. The portal was moved to the courtyard of the building on 3 Vecpilsetas Street. Camel's portal was exhibited in the present location - 47 Valnu Street - to decorate the entrance of newly opened café in 1968.
