The origins of St.George hospital can be traced from the thirteenth century when Bishop Albert ruled. The hospital on 34 Kungu Street was built in 1845; architect J. D. Felsko. It might be that the moulding is from earlier time, and it was situated on the facade of the former hospital buildings; the hospital changed its location several times and the buildings have not survived.
