Monument to J.Poruks

In 1924 a Committee of J.Poruks's Remembrance was established and a suggestion to bury the poet in Riga was made. Then it was decided to make a monument to J.Poruks. The competition was announced and sculptor T.Zalkalns gained the right to perform his project. The monument was unveiled in 1930.
